Founded in 1897, Fairmont Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten has welcomed guests from all over the world for more than 100 years. Few other hotels can match its rich blend of individuality, tradition and distinction. It is housed in a very grand, traditional white building with a green copper roof. The entrance hall and reception area have a mosaic style tiled floor partly covered by large oriental rugs. The public areas of the hotel are furnished with a collection of exquisite 16th and 17th Century Flemish-Gobelin tapestries, Baroque closets and Renaissance chests. All the spacious guestrooms are furnished and decorated individually, to a very high standard, with traditional antique furniture. Needless to say, in this deluxe property, both rooms and bathrooms are in exceptional condition. Restored to its original finery in 1999, the hotel’s "Haerlin" Restaurant is the place where tradition meets innovation. The fine-dining room overlooks the lake and is decorated elegantly, with timber flooring and a large banquette supporting porcelain figures symbolising the four seasons. It offers light Mediterranean French gourmet cuisine that is a feast for the eyes and a delight to the tongue. Alternatively, "Doc Cheng’s" is an Oriental/Asian restaurant and bar with its own tandoori oven. The ambience is a throwback to the 1920s. Brass lamps with red shades and countless black and white photos from the globe-trotting Doc's private album contribute to an atmosphere that's as eclectic as the menu itself.
