The hotel is centrally located in Hamburg and overlooks the Alster Lake. It is just 10 mintues’ drive from the largest seaport in Germany and the CCH Congress Centre. The city’s shopping malls, town hall, musical theatres can be reached very comfortably by public transport.

The Crowne Plaza is housed in a large, modern red brick building. The spacious lobby opens out onto a vast atrium in the centre of the building, which provides an abundance of natural daylight, creating a unique atmosphere and making the hotel a city landmark. The lobby itself is decorated mainly in cream, beige and light brown, with marble floors, potted plants and well co-ordinated furniture. The 285 large guestrooms are furnished to a high standard in a variety of warm tones. Both the guestrooms and the bathrooms are kept in very good condition. The hotel’s "Blue Marlin" restaurant is bright and modern, decorated mainly in pale colours. Its ceiling is supported by white square pillars and it has a light blue and brown patterned carpet. The King George Pub, on the ground floor, offers an intimate atmosphere with comfortable seating and wood panelled walls. There is also an outside terrace, where guests can enjoy their drinks in the summer.
