The Park Hyatt Hotel is housed in the massive, historic "Levantehaus," a very famous former Hamburg trading house. It combines old-world charm and maritime tradition with state-of-the-art conveniences and 21st-century interior design. The lobby, situated on the first floor, features several seating areas, an imposing staircase and an impressive glass roof. Decorated in warm, earthy materials like cherry wood and sandstone, the 187 spacious guestrooms create a welcoming and homely atmosphere and feature the latest in communications technology, which blends inconspicuously into the furniture. The bathrooms are also huge and very traditional, designed with a touch of understatement. The hotel’s “Apples” Restaurant & Bar serves simple, creative cuisine with a Mediterranean touch, in which fresh, organically grown, local products play an important role. The decoration is characterised by modern elegance, with an open kitchen where appropriate dishes are prepared in the wood oven, the lavastone grill, the rôtisseur or the wok.
